We are the Strathkelvin Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
An 11 mile walk mostly on very good paths from Drumfrochar to Wemyss Bay, along the line of the aqueducts that used to bring water to Greenock. Excellent views over the Firth of Clyde (weather permitting). Wear waterproof shoes as there are some wet bits of the walk and make sure to be dressed warmly as it's Winter and it gets quite exposed on the moors. Depending on pace it might be getting dark as we finish the walk, so bring a head torch or torch just in case.
The 0803 train from Lenzie Station gets into Glasgow Queen Street at 08:18
The 08:50 train from Glasgow Central gets into Drumfrochar at 09:24.
Get a return from Lenzie to Wemyss Bay.
For drivers I would suggest leaving the car at Lenzie Station and joining the rest of us on our train-based adventure, but you could conceivably drive to the start and get the train back from Wemyss Bay to Drumfrochar at the end.
