South across fields towards Alstonefield then Wetton. Ascending in part by lanes to Ecton Hill then descending to the Manifold Trail heading north to Hume End across fields back to Hartington. Risk assessment: May be muddy in parts, possibility of livestock on route. Exposed on Ecton Hill in windy or poor weather. A few stiles, some of them of stone at the end of the walk. Route may be varied depending on conditions.
