Orchids at Ragpits Nature Reserve. (Repeat)
Leisurely 4.1 Miles. Mainly level but with some gentle slopes. The reserve itself has some chalky slopes which can be slippery.
A leisurely evening walk to see various types of orchids and other plants at the BBOWT Ragpits Nature Reserve in their full splendour, staying for about 40 minutes.
We will also walk through:
Aston Clinton Park, (which is next to the private Green Park)
Chilterns Society Cobblers Pits Nature Reserve,
Edge of the Halton MOD airfield,
Part of the Wendover Arm tow-path,
Some village roads.
No stiles. As part of this will be along the towpath it will be a bit muddy if after recent rain, and the vegetation is growing rapidly so please wear appropriate footwear and trousers are recommended to protect your legs.
New visitors will be very welcome. You do not need to be a member.
Well behaved dogs allowed. Need to be on lead in reserve.
There will be some walking along roads.
No trampling of plants please in the reserve!
I am not knowledgeable about orchids so any experts will be very welcome.
