- If you need to contact the walk leader, please text the number shown. Please do not email - it will not reach me.
- It is strongly recommended that you do not use the post code for navigation - it is unlikely it will take you anywhere near the start point.
- There is no mobile signal near the start point, so it is unlikely you will be able to contact me.
- The finishing time shown is for guidance only.
- Several paths on this walk are narrow and require care (they may also require the use of your hands). There is one steep climb and the return journey involves additional ascent.
- Dogs are allowed but should be kept on a lead once the ascent of Fan Frynach begins.
- The TBR Mountain Safety Policy (see https://www.tigerbayramblers.org.uk/index.php/walking/walking-mountain-safety-policy) applies to this walk.
This walk starts at the Blaen Llia car park and follows the Afon Llia north until we reach the entrance to the Craig Cerrig Gleisiad nature reserve. It then heads into the nature reserve, enjoying more views of the river, before climbing steeply to the summit of Fan Frynach. From Fan Frynach the route heads south, over several undulating summits, including Fan Llia (with a nice view over the Ystradfellte reservoir), before returning to the start point.
