Starting from the picturesque Downland village of East Dean, we climb up East Dean hill, with some great views of the Downs to the north. Returning to East Dean via a gentle forestry track. Those who only want a short walk can stop off for a coffee at the Star and Garter. The longer part of the eight climbs gently northwards , again with great views, then descending down through trees to a flinty farm track. We then have a short , but steepish climb up to the ridge opposite Postles Barn, followed by a gentle forest descent back to East Dean
A good introduction to walking in the Downs.
