Fisherrow/Musselburgh 

Meet at Currie Library at 9.15am to leave at 9.30am.  Meet at Fisherrow Harbour car park (near public toilets) at 10:15am.

Walk from Car Park at Fisherrow Harbour, New Street, Musselburgh.  EH21 6DQ  [ NT334729 ]
C walk, 7 miles. Minimal ascent.

 

This is a circular walk by the River Esk, past Queen Margaret University and Musselburgh Railway Station then towards Newhailes House and Gardens. We then go via the beach to return to the car park.  A lot of this walk is on tarmac surfaces and a path that is a bit muddy.

 

Directions to Fisherrow Harbour from Currie Library Carpark (approx. 15 miles) :

Travel west along the A720 (Bypass) until you reach the exit for Musselburgh.  Go under the A1 via a roundabout and follow signs for Musselburgh.  

At the next roundabout, go right towards Monktonhall Road and Eskview until you reach a T junction with traffic lights.

Go left along Olive Bank Road and right at the next roundabout along New Hailes Road.  

At the traffic lights, go left along Edinburgh Road for a short distance and first right into New Street.  

Fisherrow Harbour and carpark is on the left.  

Some of the carpark has had picnic tables installed but there is more parking to the left, beyond the toilets and snack van.

The No 44 bus from Currie can be taken to Fisherrow Harbour.
