Starting in Chipping, arguably the prettiest village in The Forest of Bowland, this relatively easy walk, is fairly low level, but with great views of the surrounding hills and fells.
Never far from the majestic fells, we take a meandering route to the hamlet of Whitewell where the famous Inn at Whitewell is situated. We will have our lunch on the green by the pub, where those wishing to have sneaky bar beverage may do so.
After lunch we take a steep, but short climb out of the village and cross rambling countryside. It should be noted that on the recce, there were a number of cows in one or two fields on this section of the walk.
Some of the stiles in the afternoon part of the walk are somewhat decrepit, with some paths also being quite overgrown. Long trousers would be a benefit here to avoid nettle stings.
Once back at Chipping there are a couple of good pubs to enjoy a nice drink before heading back home.
