The Walk heads North and North East towards Yarwell Mill where we will stop for coffee, then over farm tracks to the east of the river before joining it again near Elton. We cross the river and then walk down past several locks to finally meet The Nene Way which takes us back to Fotheringhay Castle.
Total Elevation climb is only 178ft and 2 stiles.
Fotheringhay is famous for its Church Spire built in 1430 which is octagonal in shape. The walk will also pass Fotheringhay Castle, famous for being the birth place of Richard III, and the final imprisonment and execution place for Mary Queen of Scots.
Suitable for dogs on a lead.
Please consider car sharing arrangements with other members to reduce the pressure on parking spots at the start of the walk.
In the event of severe weather, please contact the leader on the morning to check the walk is still on.
