Overview

From the centre of Frome with its many old stone buildings we will walk north to the lake in Orchardleigh Estate, then over a ridge with potentially fine views around the area. We return alongside the River Frome right into the centre of the town

Parking information:

Recommended parking is in the nearby Cattle Market car park in Justice Lane, BA11 1BE.

Public toilets are by the car park. From this car park pass the Black Swan Arts Gallery & Cafe* on the corner between Justice Lane and Bridge Street). Turn right into Bridge Street which joins the lower end of North Parade, then turn right, cross the road and after a few paces you will find on the left the start of the walk at the entrance to Willow Vale, just before the river.

*The Black Swan Arts Gallery & Café is open on a Sunday

Start & finish: Junction of North Parade and Willow Vale roads in the centre of Frome, next to the river. Cattle Market Car Park appears to cost £2.80 all day on a Sunday. Payment in advance by phone with location code 801 801 or by coins only at the Car Park’s machine on the day. There are other car parks if the above one is full but check which of them permit a long enough stay.
