This is a Moderate hill walk at a steady pace with a climb of one hour plus on tracks to reach the first summit on the ridge. We walk up the public road for a mile until the turn off for Upperton Farm. Tracks lead north up onto the Glenbuchat watershed ridge with Glenkindie to the east. The route turns south east over Creag an Sgor and Meikle Firbriggs, then down to Blackhillock Farm. To continue the circular walk, we head down to the A97, then up past Glenbuchat Castle and join a track which leads back to the village hall car park.
The café in the Alford main car park is open until 4.30ish, so we could go in there for a cuppa and cake as we choose.
