Train-based walk

Leader: David B, meeting at walk start

Meet Point: Near the ticket barriers, or on the platform at Piccadilly Station. Alternatively, meet the group on the train, or at the Walk Start at Glossop station.

Transport to Walk Start: 09:03 train from Manchester Piccadilly (final destination Hadfield).

Suggested Ticket: Glossop Off Peak Return £7.90

Walk Start: Glossop Railway Station at 09:35

Waypoints: Old Glossop, Doctors Gate, Crooked Clough, Overexposed - B29, James Thorn.

Return Services: x:22 & x:52 until last train at 22:52.

Extra: Please use the toilet on the train. There is no toilet at the Walk Start or en route. Optional drinks at the end at a good pub. Please do not bring your dog (apart from registered assistance dogs).

A walk in memory of Remembrance Day and all those who have lost family and friends in times of war.

We will head up on to the moors via a valley that gets nicer with every passing year, up to the first of what are technically three aircraft wreck sites.

It is advisable to have gaiters and a headtorch with you.
