Manchester Weekend Walkers organise and lead walks for people who are working or busy in the week and who want to make the most of their free days.
- We walk in and around Greater Manchester.
- All our walks use public transport - so you don't need to drive to get to the countryside.
- No need to book for most walks, you can just turn up unless there are special arrangements in the description.
- There's a walk every weekend, all year round.
- You can join us on regular weekday evening social events - details of these are shown on our website here: Socials
- Several times a year we organise weekend trips away to walk somewhere in England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland - future events will be added to our website here: Weekends
Since we were founded in 2013, people in our Group have enjoyed getting out to many great places in Greater Manchester and beyond, followed by a chat and maybe a drink afterwards before catching the train home.
We hope that you find something of interest in our programme, maybe something with a bit of history or fantastic views, a shorter afternoon walk, or something longer over a full day in the hills.
We have some advice on getting to a walk, choosing the right distance and difficulty level, what to wear and what to bring on the Come on a Walk page on our website.
Although our walks are aimed at the interests and abilities of people aged "40-plus" everyone is welcome, but please check with us before bringing children and please do not bring your dog (apart from registered assistance dogs).
