PLACES ON OUR WALKS MUST BE BOOKED IN ADVANCE.
A beautiful autumn walk through the lovely Gorehambury estate to glimpse the present house and its Tudor predecessor where Elizabeth I stayed. This is now a ruin preserved by English Heritage. We pass through undulating farmland and ultimately back through St Michael's village in St Albans. Please note there is about half a mile walk along a wide grass verge beside a busy road and about half a mile of ploughed field to negotiate. Oh well! there have to be some challenges to keep Ramblers interested.
