SUNDAY 19 JANUARY 2025 AT 8.30AM - GRAND DAY OUT IN LONDON - WOOLWICH TO CANARY WHARF (APPROX. 10 MILES)
Meet at Basingstoke Railway Station Alencon Link, Basingstoke RG21 5NE at 8.30 to catch 8.45 or 9.11 train to Waterloo (£16.75 return with railcard). Then tube to Bank and DLR to Woolwich Arsenal (£6.70). This is a very interesting route taking in parts of the old East End, including Old Billingsgate Market.)
An interesting walk with several stops along the way. Bring packed lunch and snack. Dress for comfort. We walk to Greenwich and go under the tunnel to Canary Wharf. For those who wish, we can stay and have a meal and watch the lazer light show which starts at 5.00PM. Then Jubilee line back to Waterloo. (Approx. £2.70). Train back to Basingstoke. (Very frequent.)
