We meet at the car park opposite the Snooty Tavern heading off to walk through farmlands to Hail Weston, returning by Little Paxton Wood (a biological Site of Special Scientific Interest). This ancient wood is wet ash and maple on heavy calcareous clay, with seasonally waterlogged soils, and it has an extremely diverse flora. We do touch on the Three Shires Way; a long-distance bridleway running through three counties; Huntingdonshire, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire. It also runs along the border of Northamptonshire. The total length, including its loop around Grafham Water, is 49 miles.
Huntingdon to Great Staughton 10 miles with journey time approximately 20/25 minutes.
Relatively small car park so sharing travel would be best where possible.
Post walk sustenance at the Snooty Tavern.
