We are the West Berkshire Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
The walk starts from the car park near the Control Tower at Greenham Common and initially heads south over the common before turning east to reach Crookham Common from where we descend to Headley Ford. We then walk beside the River Enborne to just above Mill Green where we cross the footbridge to take field paths to reach the Crookham road. The route then follows the Crookham road before descending to the Kennet and Avon Canal via Chamberhouse Mill. After following the canal towpath to Widmead Lock we turn north to reach Thatcham Nature Discovery Centre, returning to the car park via the Reed Beds and Bowdown Woods.
Please bring sufficient food and drink for the day and ensure you have adequate wet weather gear in case of rain.
