A hilly, linear walk along the river Wey passing weirs, willows and locks, following the Pilgrim’s Way through Chantry Wood and exiting to meadows and the church tower crowning the summit of the gentle hill, with views of manor houses, vineyards and villages over 7 counties. We descend the hill to Chilworth Station (walking poles advisable) for a 10 minute journey back to Guildford, with the option of visiting the castle with its sculpture of Lewis Carroll’s Alice Through the Looking Glass and the nearby Guildford Museum, or visiting the town centre for Christmas shopping. Lunch options in Guildford town centre.
Finish circa 2pm, depending on options taken.
