Walking in and around Richmond
Our group is based in Richmond, West London and we are part of Surrey Area. We have a passion for helping everyone to discover the joys of sociable walking. Our local area, stretching from Putney to Hampton, offers an unrivalled wealth of parks and open spaces to explore, including the wonderful Royal parks of Richmond and Bushy, as well as good train links both to the beautiful Surrey countryside, Central London and other green spaces in Greater London.
Our walking community
In Richmond Ramblers we make full use of our fortunate location to offer a varied programme of walks at weekends and midweek. Our walks range from 4-12 miles in length with varying levels of difficulty from easy to strenuous, to provide something for everyone, and are conveniently organised around public transport.
We have an amazing choice for a range of nearby walks up to 8 miles, as well as a varied stretch of the Thames Path that runs the length of the borough. The abundance of pubs and cafés locally provides excellent opportunities for refreshment and a chat to add to the enjoyment.
But we don’t just stay local, we like to discover new areas, too, and our programmes typically contain interest walks in Central London, green walks in Greater London, and country walks in the surrounding counties, made accessible by our transport links. We welcome new members and take particular pride in introducing others to the varied delights of our borough, which makes it so attractive to walkers.
