Overview

The walk is fairly flat and there are approx. 6 stiles to negotiate. Some paths may pass through encroaching vegetation. We'll pass through fields, where there will be cows and horses.

We will have regular refreshment stops and an alfresco lunch in Newmillerdam Country Park. Toilets available at the start/finish plus at Newmillerdam (20p). Cafe at the end plus the opportunity to visit the Tony Wade : Boundary exhibition.

In the summer of 2018 artist Tony Wade walked the 60-mile length of the Wakefield District boundary. Every three miles he painted three panels showing what he saw when looking outwards.

See what he saw and view all 60 paintings (20 triptychs), representing a 360-degree panorama from the Wakefield District at the Anglers Country Park visitors centre.
