Overview

Nestling below the bleak upland of Kinder Scout, Hayfield is the starting point for this grand circuit that encircles one of the head valleys of the River Sett. From the car park, heading west along the Sett Valley Trail and the Pennine Bridleway up to the prominent local landmark of Lantern Pike offering expansive views before taking mainly moorland paths and trails over to Middle Moor and returning along the Snake Path. This moderate+ walk has a couple of steeper sections including the summit of Lantern Pike which can be bypassed if preferred. Few stiles.
