Overview

Nestling below the bleak upland of Kinder Scout, Hayfield is the starting point for this grand circuit that encircles one of the head valleys of the River Sett. Mainly clear moorland paths and tracks leading up to the prominent local landmark of Lantern Pike offering expansive views before an easy valley return along the course of a disused railway. This moderate+ walk has a couple of steeper sections including the summit of Lantern Pike which can be bypassed if preferred. Few stiles.
