Heald Green station to Gatley station via various green spaces. The walk follows rights of way, park paths and some minor suburban roads.
Waypoints : Brown Lane, Rose Vale Park, Gatley Golf Club, William Scholes Fields, Scholes Park, Gatley Hill, Gatley Brook, Gatley Park, Gatley Carrs.
Dogs and children under proper supervision welcome .
Toilets - none at Heald Green or Gatley stations but Coffee Fix café in Gatley village is in the Stockport community toilets scheme and there are pubs at Heald Green and in Gatley.
Shops near start in Heald Green and in Gatley village
Heald Green Railway Station, Finney Lane. Transport : Train from Piccadilly 10:36 (final destination Crewe) calls Gatley at 10:49 arrives Heald Green 10:53. Also bus 368 from Stockport at 10:29 or bus 368 from Wythenshawe Interchange at 10:44. Car parking : There is very limited parking at Heald Green station and surrounding streets are restricted. If going by car it's recommended to park at Gatley station (free) or nearby streets and get the 10.49 train one stop to the start.
