Overview

Wendy Birt will lead Thursday's 7.5 mile walk starting at 10.00am from  Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Wood Heather Lane Heather LE67 2TD  The entrance to the car park is well hidden but is on the right not far past the rear [private] entrance to Cattows Farm.

The walk takes us back to
Heather and into Sence Valley Forest Park where we will have our morning break. Then onto Donnington le Heath.

Our lunch time stop will be at The Gate Inn at Hugglescote where they do sell filled cobs but are happy for us to eat our own food if we buy a drink.

From there we retrace our steps to pass the lovely old 1620's house and garden and take the lane which leads us to Kelham Bridge Nature Reserve.

We will walk around the perimeter of this site and be able to look in the bird hides where there is a good chance we may see a kingfisher.

Leaving the Nature Reserve we cross the road and touch on the outskirts of Sence Valley before returning to Jubilee Wood and our start point.
 Approximately 7.5 miles.
