The Rivers Rother and Eden are flooded making the footpaths impassable.
We are the Hammersmith, Fulham & Wandsworth Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
9 miles, moderate to leisurely pace, undulating hills, woodland, field paths, three lovely villages, 2 castles, may be muddy in places.
Route: From Hever along Eden Valley Walk, Chiddingstone, across fields to Penshurst and its park, River Medway, Leigh.
Drop out points: None.
Food: lunch at Chiddingstone, picnic in churchyard or very nice cafe.
Travel: 10.07 London Bridge, 10.22 East Croydon (alternatively 10.01 from Clapham Junction and change at East Croydon for the 10.22), arriving Hever at 10.49.
Ticket: Buy a day return any journey permitted to Leigh, about £21 (before any discounts).
