Overview

A moderate 8 mile walk with several ups & several downs, with lovely views and a variety of terrain.

We start at Elemore Garden Centre & cafe (toilets available). Leaving here, we pass through the hamlet of Hetton-le-Hill, then go along field edges up towards High Moorsley Weather Station (golf ball), where the views on a good day, are superb! Those of us who want, can cross the extra couple of hundred metres to the trig point, with potential views of Penshaw, Durham Cathedral & the Angel. We descend through woodland, some of which is on steps, to reach Littletown (our half way point). Next is a flat path along Dog Kennel Bank (woodland), before climbing up to High Haswell, and more views. The final part of the walk takes us downhill to cross Coldwell Burn, before working our way back to Elemore Country' Park.

An option for a short will kindly be provided by Dave Marshall.
