A walk to get some fresh air into your lungs after the festive season! On a clear winter’s day, the hills above Barmouth provide exhilarating airy views over the coast, the mountains and the Mawddach Estuary. Our walk starts with a gentle stroll along the Marine Parade towards Llanaber before heading uphill on a rough track to Fridd Fechan. The climb continues to reach Bwlch y Llan. Here we turn south to join the route of the Cambrian Way as it heads down the low ridge towards Barmouth. We descend to cross a small lane and then continue on a path past climbing slabs to Dinas Oleu, the first property owned by the National Trust. A steep but straight forward descent brings us back to Barmouth.
