Walking in and around Meirionnydd (South Snowdonia)
For more information about our group, and a list of forthcoming group walks, visit our main website.
We are a friendly group of people who enjoy walking, the wonderful local countryside and the company of other people. We organise regular walks in and around South Snowdonia. Do come along - you’ll get a really warm welcome and it’s a great way to get out into the fresh air, make new friends and simply feel more alive!
Our walks vary from short, leisurely rambles to strenuous mountain hikes of 10 - 12 miles. Details are in our walk listing but if you want to find out more just phone the leader. Please wear suitable footwear and clothing as our walks are often on rough or wet terrain and the weather can be changeable. Except for our shortest walks, you should bring refreshments for a rest break and a lunch stop.
Unfortunately, we are not usually able to accept dogs on our walks, apart from Registered Assistance Dogs.
Join our walking commmunity
Join the Meirionnydd Group to get to know all corners of this beautiful and varied part of Wales. Enjoy our hills and valleys, mountains and coast, green fields and woodlands. Take pleasure in the company of other, like-minded people and hear fascinating tales about our local history and folklore.
As a group member, you’ll also be invited to our occasional social events and receive our six-monthly newsletter. And if you are interested there are plenty of opportunities to get more involved, for example by leading walks, helping to run the group or participating in walking-related projects.
