Overview

This walk starts at the NT car park at Hinton Ampner, follows wide tracks towards Cheriton, then turns north along the Itchen Way past Cheriton Mill. Turn east and passing through farmland we skirt round Cheriton Wood and down to Bramdean Common. Picnic lunch stop at the Church in the Woods, before visiting the emus on the way to Bramdean and the final leg back to Hinton Ampner. NT members can visit the cafe in the grounds for extra refreshments if required. Map OL32.

Park and meet at the NT Hinton Ampner car park which opens at 10.00. If you arrive earlier it is not guaranteed that the gates will be open. Please park in one of the parking areas before the cattle grid that marks the entrance to the main car park. Hinton Ampner House is on the A272 near Cheriton.
