This is a relatively easy walk with hardly any climbing. After walking up the drive to Little Sparta, the route leads out onto open moorland in a northwesterley direction. Soon after crossing the Westruther Burn, a left turn is taken heading south , past Burngrange and onto the quiet lane back to the start of the walk.
Although no hills are climbed, fine views are afforded in all directions.
There are good clear paths throughout although some parts are a little boggy.
There is about 25 minutes on tarmac at the end of the walk.
There are a few gates, and one multi step stile.
