Starting from the Horseshoe Lake Activity Centre, first car park on left, we start our walk walking to the south of Horseshoe Lake in a clockwise direction to Moor Green Lakes Nature Reserve heading North to cross a minor road at Moor Green Farm where we have a short walk along the minor road before entering the Finchampstead Ridges, one of the first aquisitions of the National Trust. We continue on crossing the B3348 to Simons Wood (NT) and exiting to cross the A321 & again B3348 to Crowthorne Station walking beside the railway to Ambarrow Hill (NT), (Ambarrow Court once aquired by RAE during WW2. Again crossing A321 heading back to Horseshoe Lake following 3 Castles path where cafe is available
4 busy road crossings A321 x2 , B3348 x2 & 2 minor road crossings + short distance walking on minor road with NO footpath. 1 short hill . Can be muddy after rain so boots recommended but was avoidable on recce
