Overview

An excellent walk in this part of North Yorks. Heading west along the old railway line we arrive in Slingsby and walk through the village, over horse paddocks to cross the B1257 road. Here we walk up the track and do a circuit of Slingsby Banks Wood and south through more woodland to pick up the path to Howthorpe Farm. This brings us to a path winding its way through Hollin Hill Plantation and to a permissive path on the Ebor Way which we follow back to our start point at Hovingham. Field paths and woodland tracks. 5 stiles. It might be muddy in places. Tea and scones/cake at The Old Yard Coffee Shop, Nunnington.
