An 11.8 mile (19 km) circular hike starting from the village of Huggate to the village of Wetwang and back. The hike takes in some classic Wolds scenery and pleasant farm tracks. It is has some gradual ups and downs with 680 ft of ascent on mostly even grassy tracks, some mud if recent rain. There is likely to be livestock (sheep) in some of the dales we pass through so dogs must be kept on a lead.
We first exit Huggate by Cow Dale following the Chalkland Way through Oxlands Dale and Shortlands Dale then following farm tracks until we get to our lunch stop just outside Wetwang on Thorn Dale. After lunch we pass through Wetwang then head along the road to Cowdale Plantation then to Rabbit Dale and finally back via Cow Dale again in to Huggate.
