Overview

This is a walk of two halves; countryside and town.
We start by walking to Kingston village, and walk up the first short hill to Jugg’s Road, passing Ashcombe Windmill, where there are fine views on a clear day. We continue walking down to cross the A27 via a footbridge and then up behind the houses at the back of Lewes.
We then begin our town section, by crossing Lewes and walking up through Wallands Park, and then down to Landport Estate before walking along Papermill Cut to the Pells and South Malling. The walk continues through Lewes to the Priory Ruins, and to Southdown Sports Club where we shall stop for tea and cake.
There are no stiles, two short uphill sections and a couple of stretches of slippery mud. Poles would be helpful.
