Walking in and around the High Weald
We are a friendly and dedicated group founded in 1989 with a current membership of around 250. Our activities are centred around Crowborough in East Sussex, and we walk in a wide area including the Ashdown Forest, High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the South Downs and parts of Kent. To access walks, we encourage car-sharing and use of public transport.

Active members are encouraged to lead walks, allowing us to offer three walks on Tuesdays. These include a morning walk of about five miles, and two all-day walks, of eight to nine and 10 to 12 miles. On Sundays, we offer a morning walk of up to about six miles. We also add some additional walks - longer, further afield or part of a linear route - to our programme from time to time. Truly something for everyone!

In common with other Ramblers’ groups, we help local people to enjoy walking and protect the places we love to walk. Our walks are a great way to get outside, make new friends and discover how walking can boost your health and happiness. You are very welcome to try walking with us.
