Overview

Meet at 10.30 outside Island Gardens DLR station.  Join Mary for a three-mile walk along the quiet north bank of the Thames, learning about William Cubitt and his influence on the area, discovering a secret abode of Lord Nelson and Lady Hamilton, hearing about maritime history and viewing a modern-day rubbish disposal operation!   There is a drop-out point at Canary Wharf (Elizabeth line entrance) but for those who would like to stay on for an extra twenty minutes, we will take in the botanical rooftop garden at Pergola on the Wharf. Finishing at West India Quay (DLR). Toilets and refreshments.  Leader – Mary Richards
