Jaw Reservoir & Cochno Hill

We'll be starting off from the car park on Cochno Road (next to Edinbarnet Nursing Home) with a gentle steady climb on open hillside to Jaw Reservoir where we'll stop for tea break. From there we drop down to Cochno Loch and cross the causeway that separates the loch from the reservoir. At the far side we'll follow the path along the shoreline before heading uphill again into the forest and joining a vehicle track. Weather permitting we'll be presented with views of Dumgoyne and Dumfoyn.  Just above Kilmannan reservoir we'll follow a minor vehicle track which leads us to the north ascent of Cochno Hill. Our lunch break location will depend on weather conditions on the day. The open hillside is extremely boggy and wet with a few flooded patches so gaiters are advisable. At the top of Cochno Hill and on our descent we should be rewarded with views of Clydebank, Bearsden and Glasgow. The open hillside peters out to meet a surfaced path which we'll follow to Cochno Road with a short section of road walking back to the car park.
