A walk showing off the River Greta. This walk leads from the centre of Keswick following paths leading to the Keswick to Threkeld railway path near the River Greta. At Brundholme there will be a brief ascent leading to Brundholme Wood above Keswick. In the distance Lake District high fells will be visible, but this will be an easy walk, no ascent of higher fells will be needed. Descending from Brundholme Wood will return to the Keswick to Threkeld railway path. This will be followed until it comes to a road that leads directly into the centre of Keswick, at the end of this circular walk. The estimated end time of the walk will be 1530. There will be ample time after the end of the walk to explore Keswick.
This will be a Wirral Ramblers group Sunday walk, travelling by coach from the Wirral. To book a place on the coach follow the website link given. The initial meeting point will the be the Arrowe Park Toby Carvery car park (see details below) for coach departure at 0830. Although an easy walk, all walkers should wear suitable, clean, walking boots or shoes (to be worn on the coach) and come with waterproof clothing, a packed lunch and a drink. The coach will park in Booth's supermarket car park in Keswick, from which most walks will start (information will be available on the journey to Keswick). On this walk we will head to a cafe first, because the short walk will allow time before the start of the walk. The coach will leave from the same place it arrived at 1800 to return to the Wirral. All walkers should bring alternative footwear to wear on the coach during the return journey, in case some parts of the route are muddy. The end time given is the expected return time of the coach at the initial meeting point.
