This is a 12-mile walk from King's Wood, that heads through the forest to visit Molash, Selling & Perry Wood. The route is along mostly well defined paths through woods, parkland, orchards and meadows.
We begin by making our way through the forest, which gets its name from King John from way back in the olden days. We go past Oathill Farm, to leave the woodland and find the remote Molash church. Continuing northwards, we head along field paths and stretches of woodland to reach a delightful wide parkland valley en route to Hogben's Hill.
Close by to this tiny hamlet is Selling, which is where we will head to the church for our lunch stop. After our break we make progress into the village to then reach the peaceful Perry Wood. On the Selling/Perry Wood stretch there is the choice of two pubs for drinks, the White Lion or the Rose and Crown. It would therefore be rude if we didn't partake in some liquid refreshment at either one.
There is very steep but short climb to the Mount where the Pulpit gives us a great view of the landscape. We continue for a short stretch of road in Shottenden, along Denne Manor Lane and we will pass by Wytherling Court, to return to Molash church.
Into Molash we reach the George, more drinks anyone?, then finally back into King's Wood to complete the circuit.
