Overview

The walk starts at Lamberhurst and goes through the estate of Scotney Castle before a long climb from Smugley Farm up to Goudhurst.  About 6 miles and 500 feet of ascent.

Lunch will be at Goudhurst.  The Star and Eagle will cater for pub lunchers.  Picknickers can sit in the nearby churchyard or by the duck pond further down the hill.  There are toilets near the pond.  The excellent Weeks baker and tea room is halfway up the hill and can brighten up your picnic lunch.

The return drops down to the sweeping view by Crowbourne Farm and then it's a long, mostly flat walk past Spelmonden and back to Lamberhurst.  About 4 miles and less than 100 feet of ascent
