This walk takes us up from East Meon over the downs to join the SDW at Salt Hill. We then stay on the SDW for a couple of miles until we reach Butser Hill. Butser Hill is a National Nature Reserve with great views and classic chalk downland features. We descend north over Ramsdean Down and continue to Park Hill overlooking East Meon. Sharp descent on the grass to the church and back to the cars.
We will cross fields with sheep, so dogs welcome but will need to be on a lead around livestock.
There are 2 cafes on this route!! First one at morning coffee will be the Sustainability Centre at the old HMS Mercury site, then the tea kiosk at the top of Butser Hill (probably the lunch stop).
Please book this walk with the leader.
