This walk is a varied one that takes many areas of Londons docklands and wharfs that have been regenerated in recent years, from its port trading days to its more ‘service focused' London lifestyle. Taking in Canary Wharf, Shadwell, Wapping and the O2 Arena is an example of how much a city can change. The walk finishes near Tower Bridge and gives great views of The Thames. The views will change as we move from day to evening. Subject to tide times, we may also be able to pop onto the Thames beach.
There will be an optional pub visit at the end. Please note that there is no lunch stop on this walk, though we will have a short stop half way for a flask refreshment.
Sensible walking shoes or trainers are recommended for this walk.
Places are limited on this walk and must be booked through the walk leader.
The group walk at a steady pace of 2.5 miles an hour, and there is requirement of all walkers to respect the general pace.
