Overview

From the start point the walk follows an easy track through the forestry with wide ranging views across the Vale of Ewyas to Cwmyoy and its church with a crooked spire.  Following a steep but short climb we reach the Ridge of Revenge and then on good paths the cairn at Garn Wen, thought to be a sighting mound for ancient travellers following the ridge paths.  Subject to weather conditions we will climb to the cairn on Twn y Gaer before descending back to the start point.  There are commanding views of the Grwyne Fawr and Llanthony Valleys on this walk which is straightforward, much of it on level and good grassy paths.
