A lovely walk along the riverside to the ancient church of Dinas, then a steady climb over Garn Dwad for fantastic views. We drop down through forestry, ford a stream and follow it for a while. Then another climb brings us round the eastern side of the hill and back down to the pretty and historic settlement.
There's a real feel of remote mid-Wales here, though it's not a long drive to get there. Llanwrtyd Wells has a super Heritage Centre showcasing its history as a popular spa town, and there are good pubs and cafes too.
A couple of good climbs. If there's been recent rain we can avoid the ford but not the mud!
Sheep and possibly other livestock - please let me know if you want to bring a dog.
The Heritage Centre and Art Gallery is usually open until 4pm.
