Overview

This walk is based on Llynfi Valley walk 4 a linear walk, I have extended the walk to make it circular.  It commences from the Aldi Maesteg car park, passes the newly refurbished Maesteg Town Hall, through the railway station, around the cemetery and along narrow lanes to the start of the climb through farm land. The climb is strenuous (400 foot rise), you will perspire profusely,  a litre of water to stay hydrated is recommended. The walk in the Garw Forest is on stoned forest roads. The Caerau forest surface is loose uneven stone that are erode by storm water. We leave the forest tracks to join community tarmac paths that travel from Caerau, passing Nantyffylon and return to the town centre
