This is a strenuous, but very rewarding walk, through wild terrain, affording wonderful views.
From the starting point we climb steadily onto Mynydd Pwll-yr-lwrch where we will have a well earned coffee break.
From there we gain more height on a narrow uneven path with quite a big drop on one side taking us up to the wind farm.
The views from here are spectacular. We will walk through the wind farm onto Llyndwr Fawr then descend to Bwlchgarw, a lovely spot for lunch. The descent from Bwlchgarw to the forest is via a steep path (300m) with loose stone, requiring good balance.
Then we will be on forest paths through Garw Forest, with quite varied vegetation and more views. From the forest we descend to the Llynfi Valley and follow footpaths back to the starting point.
As described above this is a strenuous walk with significant ascents and some very uneven walking in place. Also, there are some very wet muddy sections, but it is well worth it for a lovely walk.
Please bring walking poles if you use them.
Hope to see you there Chaotic Chris and Nicki ( bilberry eater ).
