Overview

An easy urban walk taking in some city streets that have been intensively remodelled to improve the walking and cycling experience, and some riverside walkways by new building developments. You should dress for the weather but the route sticks to solid paths and no mud is expected.

Transport to Walk Start: Numerous transport options to central Manchester.

Meet Point / Walk Start: Emmeline Pankhurst statue in St Peter's Square at 10.45. Walk start 11:00

Waypoints: Spinningfields, Chapel St, New Islington, Liverpool St, Trafford Road, Ordsall Hall, Aviva Studios, Britons Protection

Extra:  Toilets at walk start in Central Library - please arrive early to use these and be ready to walk at 11.00. Route ends at Briton's Protection pub where the group AGM will be held at 13.30. Non-members are welcome to join us for a drink before and after the Group meeting which should last no more than 1 hour.

No dogs please, apart from registered assistance dogs.
