Thursday, 20 June 2024
Start time:
10:00 am
Estimated finish time:
2:39 pm
Difficulty:
Moderate
Distance:
12.9km / 8.0mi
Ascent:
N/A
Type:
circular

An easy walk with an occasional incline using tracks through woods, pastureland and the inevitable road section.
This walk will not be challenging the stile count achieved recently
by both Colin and Alan, although there are a small number to negotiate.

On the recce, at the end of May, there were some quite muddy and wet sections so good waterproof footwear recommended. Of course the terrain may well have dried out in the intervening period.

Our route will take us by the Wireless Station, Ulverscroft Nature Reserve and the substantial remains of Ulverscroft Priory.

There is a pub stop in Newtown Linford at The Bradgate after about 5.5 miles.
It is a food pub so if taking your own food please eat this off-site and not
in the pub or it's garden.

After lunch there is a little under 2.5 miles to complete the walk.

  • Refreshments available (Pub/cafe)
