A walk to a hilltop above a remote lochan between Balquhidder and Glen Dochart.
Following the right of way from Ledcharrie to Balquhidder we climb steadily and sometimes steeply to the bealach near “Loch of the Irishman” before climbing SW to hilltop to enjoy all round views. Steepish grassy descent to join track. If time permits we will visit some old shielings.
Local Grade: B
Terrain: A steep double track following the Ledcharrie burn to the weir then a grassy and often boggy track following marker posts to the bealach. Then a trackless climb to the top. Descend grassy hillside to join the right of way at Rob Roy’s Putting Stone. Return on same path.
Max height: 650 m
