Medlock Valley to Manchester Centre

Note: this route is provisional. subject to a final recce.

This is a walk down one of Manchester's river valleys, the Medlock, into central Manchester. The walk is at times rural, urban, industrial and post-industrial. We finish with lunch in the Northern Quarter.

We will take the train from Crewe (09:32 pm) to Manchester Piccadilly, and then catch the 230 bus (from Ancoats High St) to Daisy Nook Country Park. We then walk down the Medlock Valley on Oldham Way to Clayton Vale, then Sport City and onto the Ashton Canal. We then will walk into the Northern Quarter for lunch, followed by the train back to Crewe.
