We are the Vale of Glamorgan Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
The walk will start at the back of the Recreation Centre, from Newbridge Fields, we'll make our way out of Bridgend towards Laleston where we'll stop and have our coffee break, we will also be observing the silence at 11.00am.
From Laleston we'll make our way over to Tythegstone before making our way to Merthyr Mawr. Lunch will be somewhere between the two places.
At Merthyr Mawr, we'll stop off at the church to see the poppy exhibition, this was an interesting one last year. Leaving the village walking along the road, we then make our way back across the field to the start point.
Note: there is some road walking on this route, also, there are a couple of 'ups', but we'll be taking these slowly, as we descend from Candlestone down to Merthyr Mawr, the track is quite rocky underfoot, so sticks may be a good idea.
There are also a few dodgy stiles.
