We are the Leicestershire & Rutland Walking Group. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
A 9-mile walk from Milldale. Meet in Milldale by the bridge and the public toilets (allow a few minutes to walk down the road from the car park).
From Milldale we initially head south along Dovedale but then turn left, uphill along a rough rocky path out of the dale, and across fields to the village of Tissington. Lunch stop is at the Tissington cycle trail car park where refreshments and toilets are available.
After lunch we head north along the Tissington Trail (a popular cycle route) for an hour - this is a well-surfaced level track with some good views to the side in places. Leaving the trail we head west high above the dale before descending back into Milldale.
The car park which is just outside Milldale is £6.60 all day so you may wish to consider car-sharing. Payment by card or phone. Allow an extra 5 min to walk from the car park down the road to the meeting point.
Meet in Milldale by the bridge and the toilets. Allow 5 min to walk along the road from the car park to the start point. If approaching from the east off the A515 take the road through Milldale and out the other side to the car park.
